EGG COOKING METHOD: PORCH EGGS

INGREDIENTS

  • Nutriplus Classic eggs 

  • Wild rockets

  • Salt and pepper

  • Vinegar

  • Cheddar cheese slices

  • Cherry tomatoes

  • Nori sheet

 

THE MAKING:

PORCHED EGG

  • Break an egg into a bowl;

  • Prepare a pot of water. Add a tablespoon of vinegar into water. Boil the water until it is barely simmering, whirl the water with spoon, then gently slip the egg at the centre of the water whirl;

  • Turn off the fire and cover the pan. Let the egg sits in the pan for 4 min. (will get runny yolk. Leave the egg in the pan longer if you prefer firmer yolk) Then, gently lift the porched egg. 

  • Arrange wild rockets and cherry tomatoes in a cup. Put the porched egg on top and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

SHEEP FACE

  • Use any round bottle cap or cutter to cut circles from cheddar cheese slice (1 circle for each egg) and place a circle on each porched egg;

EYES

  • Cut circles from nori sheet (2 for each egg). Stick 2 circles apart on the circle cheese slice;

MOUTH

  • Cut a tiny strip (length <5mm, 1 for each egg), place in the middle of the circle cheese slice. The, cut an arch for each egg, place below the strip on the sheep face;  

SHEEP EARS

  • Use round bottle cap to cut a leaf shape (2 for each egg) out of cheddar cheese slice. Place at the two sides of the circle cheese slice;
