EGG COOKING METHOD: TAMAGO (EGG SHEETS OR PAN FRIED EGG)

INGREDIENTS

  • Egg sheets 

  • Sausage

  • Cucumber (sliced vertically)

  • Uncooked pasta

 

THE MAKING:

EGG SHEETS

  • Whisk the eggs until well incorperated. Add a tablespoon of water and 1 teaspoon constarch into the mixture. Mix well;

- Strain the egg mixture with a shift (in order to get smooth egg sheets);

- Grease (spread a thin layer of cooking oil with kitchen tissue) the non-stick pan. With small-low heat, pour egg mixture into the pan. Wait until the smooth top layer hardens, then remove the egg sheet from the pan;

- If the egg sheet is round, trim it into square or rectangle. Fold the egg sheet into half (the width is approx. 2'') and make incisions on the folded side.

  • Steam or boil or grill the sausages. Cut the sausages into 1'' to 1.5'' long. Then, make incisions vertically and horizintally on the flat surface of those sausages.

  • Put a sausage at the end of egg sheet and roll it until the other end of the egg sheet. A sun flower appears now.

  • Wrap the bottom of the flower with a slice of cucumber. Leave an inch of cucumber towards the end. Pin it with uncooked pasta or toothpick.

  • Insert a bamboo stick (satay stick) or lollipop stick to the sun flower.
